An ongoing drug investigation ended with more than a dozen people behind bars.
On Thursday, May 16, officers with the Poplar Bluff Police Department, Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Sikeston Department of Public Safety, Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms executed 4 search warrants simultaneously in the Poplar Bluff City Limits.
The warrants stemmed from an ongoing investigation into the distribution of illegal narcotics over the past several months, according to an email from Captain David Sutton of the Poplar Bluff Police Department.
Sutton said more arrests are anticipated in the near future.
