An early morning crash Thursday sent two Southeast Missouri women to the hospital.

The accident happened at 4 a.m. on U.S. Highway 160, one mile east of Briar in Ripley County.

According to Trooper J. A. Wilson of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 44-year-old Sheryl Price of Doniphan was traveling east when her 2005 Ford pickup truck ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree.

Price was taken by ambulance to Southeast Ripley County Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.  Her passenger, 28-year-old Jennifer M. Reece of Doniphan, was hospitalized with serious injuries.  Neither woman was wearing a seat belt.

Trooper Wilson reported the truck was totaled.
