Persistence pays for lottery player | News
Persistence really paid off for one Poplar Bluff woman.
Each week Anna Amrhein buys a Missouri Lottery Lotto ticket. The week of January 21 was no different. But the results were.
The Show Me Cash quick pick ticket she bought at Huck's Food Store, 703 Westwood Blvd. in Poplar Bluff, was one of two tickets that matched all five winning numbers.
When she found out she would split the $97,000 jackpot Anna said, "I was in shock. I thought there must be a glitch in the machine, so I took it out and scanned it again. It said '$48,500 winner. See Lottery.' I thought 'this can't be true!'"
But it was.
Last week Anna traveled to the St. Louis lottery office to claim her prize. Afterward she and her son along with her sister headed to Olive Garden and then went shopping.
Anna says she plans to keep on playing the lottery.
