Man charged with DWI following early morning crash | Crime
Police charged a Poplar Bluff man with DWI after they say he plowed his car into a tree.
The crash happened at 1:45 Friday morning on Route PP, four miles west of Poplar Bluff.
Anthony P. Furtak, 24, was traveling north when his 2004 Pontiac Grand Am ran of the road and struck a tree, according to a crash report filed by Corporal T. W. Lee of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Furtak was taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Medical Center with moderate injuries. It was unknown if he was wearing a seat belt.
In addition to being charged with driving while intoxicated, Furtak was charged with failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.
