Lee Greenwood to perform at Valentines for Veterans Concert | Arts & Culture
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
John J. Pershing VAMC will host the "Valentines for Veterans Concert," featuring country music star Lee Greenwood, at 7 p.m. Friday, February 17, at the Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff.
Greenwood has won numerous awards, including "Male Vocalist of the Year" from the Country Music Association (CMA).
His 1985 classic "God Bless the U.S.A." has been voted the most recognizable patriotic song in America. His other hits include “Ring on Her Finger, Time on Her Hands,” “It Turns Me Inside Out,” “Somebody’s Gonna Love You,” “I Don’t Mind the Thorns (If You’re the Rose)” and “Dixie Road.”
The concert will be free of charge to veterans, their families and the public because, according to the Veterans Administration, “the price has already been paid” by the sacrifices of Veterans.
Tickets, however, are required and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Volunteers and donations are needed to bring the no-cost event to veterans and the community.
For information on tickets or to volunteer, call (573) 778-4151, extension 54275; or 1-888-557-8262, extension 54275.
